Medical Students
Students enrolled in accredited health professional programs at the college or university levels and have an interest in paediatrics are welcome to join the CPS.
Medical students have a representative on the Residents Section and play an active role in section activities.
Medical students have access to all the same benefits as resident members. Resources specifically for medical student members include:
Mentorship program
Launched in 2020, the CPS Residents Section established a cross-Canada medical student-to-resident mentorship program. The goal of the program is to pair students interested in paediatrics with residents across Canada to support students in learning more about paediatrics, paediatric residency, applying to CaRMS for paediatrics, and related topics. The program allows students the opportunity to network beyond their own medical school and learn from the experiences of residents.
All mentors and mentees must be CPS members to participate in the program. Please click here to sign up to be a CPS member.

Meet the Residents: Podcast Series
Meet the Residents is a podcast series aimed at helping medical students get to know more about the paediatric training programs across Canada,
Hosted by medical students Nardin Kirolos, Marie Albert and Olivia Lemire, the podcast highlights the resident experiences throughout training, and provides applicants with personal perspectives. Each podcast delves into the practices at the resident’s institution, unique aspects of the program, and what it’s to live in that city.

Medical Student Liaison 2026-27
My name is Chantal and I am an incoming 4th year medical student at Dalhousie University. Before medical school, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Translational and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa. I am excited to serve as your Medical Student Liaison for the Canadian Paediatric Society for the 2026-2027 academic year!
