Fellow members

Paediatricians or paediatric subspecialists with Canadian or American certification or a temporary license to practice paediatrics in Canada (International Medical Graduates). 

Paediatricians who are retired, working reduced hours, on sabbatical, sick leave or parental leave are eligible for a discount.  Paediatricians in their first 2 years of practice can are eligible for graduated billing (discounts).

Resident members

Graduate physicians engaged in postgraduate training. All first-year paediatric residents in Canada receive complimentary membership, and many Canadian paediatric residency programs sponsor membership for their R2-R4 residents.

Associate members

All other health care professionals (eg., nurses, family doctors, dentists, medical students and non-paediatric residents) can apply as associate members. Associate members are non-voting but receive all other benefits, including a subscription to Paediatrics & Child Health.

International paediatricians

The CPS welcomes paediatricians who trained outside Canada to join as members.  We offer professional education that can help you prepare to write the Canadian exam or maintain your license to practice.

The CPS also provides opportunities to network with other paediatricians and healthcare workers through participation in our education, our subspecialty sections and our special interest groups. CPS members have access to a list of paediatric locums and to an online membership directory to help connect you with colleagues.
