Canadian Paediatric Society and CHEO to release new data on school experiences of children with type 1 diabetes

OTTAWA – Members of the media are invited to attend an important announcement about the care of children with type 1 diabetes in school.

Speakers at this event include: an Ottawa parent of a school-aged child with type 1 diabetes; Alex Munter, CHEO’s President and CEO; Dr. Sarah Lawrence, CHEO’s Chief of Endocrinology; and Dr. Mike Dickinson, President of the Canadian Paediatric Society.

Coinciding with Diabetes Awareness Month, the event will also mark a milestone in our Diabetes@School initiative. Launched in October 2016, Diabetes@School was developed to ensure that school staff and administrators have the training and resources required to support students with type 1 diabetes. During this event, the second phase of this program will be unveiled.
