2022 paediatric conference features latest research in child and youth health

MONTREAL – The latest research and developments in child and youth health will be showcased during the Canadian Paediatric Society’s 98^th Annual Conference, May 26-28 in Montreal, Quebec. More than 700 paediatricians and other child and youth health professionals from across Canada are expected to attend.

The conference will feature:

• A keynote address by paediatrician and president of the Canadian Medical Association, Dr. Katharine Smart. Dr. Smart’s talk about the state of health care in Canada, particularly child and youth health, runs from 9 – 10 a.m. ET on May 26.
• Timely workshops and seminars on child and youth health. Topics include emerging concepts in developmental paediatrics, hospital paediatrics, climate-related mental health, high-potency cannabis use in youth, anti-racism, trauma-informed care and physician wellness.
• Over 100 scientific abstracts in areas such as emergency and adolescent medicine, infectious diseases, neonatology and social paediatrics.
• Paediatric Update: Presentations on timely issues in paediatrics including diabetes management technologies, paediatric therapeutics and adrenal suppression from exogenous glucocorticoids. The Paediatric Update is on Saturday May 26 from 4:15 to 6 p.m. ET.

Events will be held at the Palais de Congrès in Montreal. The media office – located in room 522C of the Palais de Congrès – will be available May 26 – 27th from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET.
