2019 Paediatric conference features latest research on child and youth health

than 1,000 paediatricians and other child and youth health professionals from across Canada are expected to attend.

The conference will feature:

  • keynote address by André Picard, one of Canada’s top health and public policy observers and commentators. His talk on drugs, devices and pharmacare in child health runs from 8-10 am on June 6.
     
  • Timely workshops and concurrent seminars on child and youth health. Topics include emerging concepts in Indigenous health, digital literacy, developmental paediatrics, and medical use of cannabis in children
     
  • Release of a new CPS position statement on digital media use by school-aged children and adolescents
     
  • Over 100 scientific abstracts in areas such as emergency and adolescent medicine, infectious diseases, neonatology and social paediatrics.
     
  • Paediatric Update: Presentations on some of the timeliest issues in paediatrics including Lyme disease, vaping, probiotics, and excessive gaming. The Paediatric Update is on Saturday, June 8 from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. ET.

Events will be held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. There is a media office – located in the Oak Room – available Wednesday, June 5 to Friday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
